the Japan Media Arts Festival Executive Committee presents the “

文化庁メディア芸術祭  Japan Media Arts Festival 20th Anniversary Exhibition - Power to Change” 

from October 15, to November 6, 2016 at　3331 Arts Chiyoda and other locations.

Since its inception in 1997, the festival has presented awards to outstanding works in each of its four divisions: Art,　Entertainment, Animation, and Manga. As a comprehensive festival of Media Arts　（Japanese: Media Geijutsu）. It also provides a platform for appreciation of the award-winning and other notable works and has in recent years　been demonstrating its continuing evolution as an established annual international festival.

This year, to mark the festival’s 20th anniversary, with the keyword “change”, four past Jury members have chosen　Award-winning Works and Jury Selections from previous Japan Media Arts Festivals to be exhibited or screened, exemplifying the diverse expressive forms and changing nature of Media Arts over that period.

By tracking 20 years of the festival, this exhibition provides a precious opportunity to fully comprehend　Media Arts as well as the changes and trends in the society, culture, and technology that surround and derive　from it. What is the relationship between these changes and trends and the inherent power of the works?

This exhibition serves as an opportunity to ponder the future of Media Arts as an extension of their “Power to Change”.

文化廳媒體藝術節20週年作品展覽執行委員會將以東京·千代田區的阿斯千代田3331為主，

於2016年10月15日（星期六）至11月6日（星期日）舉辦“文化廳媒體藝術節20週年作品展 - 改變的力量“活動。

文化廳媒體藝術節，自1997年舉辦以來，對藝術，娛樂，動畫和漫畫四個部門中的優秀作品進行表彰，並同時提供鑑賞獲獎作品的機會。它作為媒體藝術的綜合藝術盛會，正朝著國際化的方向發展。為了紀念媒體藝術節20週年而舉辦的本次作品展，以“變化”為主題，展示和上映由曾經做過過評審委員的4位編導選出來的作品，歷屆的獲獎作品，評審委員會推薦的作品等，以此來介紹不斷變化的媒體藝術的各種表現方法。

本次作品展將追尋媒體藝術節20年的歷程，成為讓大家感受和了解媒體藝術及與其有關的社會，文化，技術的「變化」，「潮流」等重要契約。「變化」及「潮流“與作品的內在力量有怎樣的關係呢？此次作品展將會成為人們著眼於作品所有具有”改變的力量“，在其延長線上所展現出來的媒體藝術的未來進行考察的平台中。

The 萌え米 Moe Rice (MoeMai) is a new type of sales form of rice companies.

 Putting cute girl illustrations (Moe萌え feeling character）in the package of Rice. 

Started from Akitachi Rice of Akita.  

The cute Japanese girl with a conical hat in the packing was 

drew by Illustrator Nishimata.

This idea really increase the sale of local rice farmers and saved the village.

I am one of their customer. I bought the Akitachi Rice because of the cute package.

The Akitachi is realllllllly delicious, thanks for the cure Moe package so I did not miss it.

萌え米（もえまい）とはパッケージに萌え絵や美少女イラストを

取り入れた米の販売形態の一種である。

秋田県産のあきたこまちの精米・玄米の包装に、

西又葵による市女笠姿の美少女イラストをあしらっている。

原美術館

The Hara Museum of Contemporary Art 

was founded in 1979 in the Shinagawa district of Tokyo 

as one of the first contemporary art museums in Japan. 

It locates close to Shinagawa Station.

Originally constructed as a private residence in 1938, 

the building is one of the representative works by Jin Watanabe, 

who is also known for his design of the Tokyo National Museum. 

It is one of rare examples of early-Showa period architecture, 

which adopted the European architectural style of the early 20th century.

This Hara Museum has another museum, Hara Museum ARC, in Gunma.

原美術館は、東京都品川区北品川にある、

原俊夫が設立した現代美術を中心とした私立美術館である。

JR品川駅から車で5分ほどの住宅街のなかにある原美術館は、

東京ガス会長、日本航空会長、帝都高速度交通営団（営団地下鉄）

総裁などを歴任した実業家原邦造の邸宅であった。

原邦造の養父の原六郎も実業家、美術品収集家として知られている。

現在、原美術館として活用されている瀟洒な邸宅は、

渡辺仁の設計で昭和13年（1938年）竣工したもの。

原美術館は、財団法人アルカンシェール美術財団を母体として

昭和54年（1979年）に開館した。

Japanese sweet (Wagashi) is a piece of art to me.

The above two out of five pieces were found in the cafe of Yamatane Museum in Tokyo.

Every small piece of the sweet has a story behind it...this time, the chef based on the paints of Kawai Gyokudou to design the seasonal collection desserts.

 Kawai Gyokudō (川合 玉堂, November 24, 1873 - June 30, 1957) 

was the pseudonym of a Japanese painter in the nihonga school, active from Meiji through Shōwa period Japan. His real name was Kawai Yoshisaburō.

Isetan 新宿伊勢丹

有80年歴史的新宿 伊勢丹百貨，近地面的幾層新裝修後，真的感覺全變了。

現代的風格，寬闊的展示空間，花店旁有著小酒吧及cafe，

好像入了時尚美術館，吸引多了很多年青的視線。

不太愛購物的我，也專程去參觀，

由都市建築師丹下憲孝及室內設計師森田恭通負責的改裝新店。

聽聞森田設計師的超創思維，開始時員工們都不太接受，

但社長大西洋堅持下，大家互相溝通後，工事順利進行。

New Open after renovation, the Isetan, Shinjuku is looked like modern museum. 

All because of the interior designer, Yasumichi Morita' super impressible idea. 

I am not interested about shopping...but went to see the interior design...as I knew...the staffs of Isetan were not quite took the idea of Morita San at first...anyway...the new shop is looked great!! 

改装した後新規オープン、新宿伊勢丹は現代美術館のように見えている。

Why print in White?! 

Because in the past the lighting of the theater was dim, 

white face can high light the facial expression the most. 

 

Red, Blue and Brown color = emphasize blood vessel and muscle of face,

to express the personality of the characters

隈取 = 歌舞伎的特別化妝方法

 

白臉 ＝ 白色的臉讓觀客容易在以前較暗燈光中，看清役者的表情

 

臉上的紅藍褐 ＝強調人物的血管及筋肉，以表達人物的個性

 

隈取【くまどり】

---

　歌舞伎独特の化粧法【けしょうほう】です。主に時代物【じだいもの】に登場する人物に使われます。もともとは、顔の血管や筋をオーバーに表現するために描【えが】かれたといわれています。隈取は、役柄【やくがら】によって使われる色が決まっています。
　・「赤色」　荒事【あらごと】の基本である、勇気・正義・強さをもった役に使われます。
　・「藍色【あいいろ】」　「藍色」は、スケールの大きな敵役【かたきやく】に使用されます。
　・「茶色」　鬼【おに】や妖怪【ようかい】など、人間以外の不気味な役に使われます。
　隈取は、「描く」のではなく「取る」と表現されます。また、筋は指でぼかして仕上げます。

在日本橫濱站附近，京急線的黃金町站到日之出站的電車橋下，

由紅燈區變成了年青人藝術小區，
有著“Koganecho Bazaar 2012 黃金町市場“的藝術活動。

由2008年開始，每年的秋天都有長達2個月的創作藝術表街中展示會。

下右：古老旅館改裝成cafe, 晚上七點後有發光風呂體驗, 館中義工說會拆，今年不知還在嗎？

日本では、誰も草間彌生を知っています。
水玉のカボチャは草間さんの私が見た最初の芸術作品です。
最近のは、大地祭りで花咲ける妻有の作品です。  
 シンプルで明るいデザインのために、100％の感動しました！

第一次看到 水玉/Bubble/圓點 的作品是南瓜，
因它簡單鮮艷的設計，印象100﹪給記下來了！ 

接著是小狗，巨大的娃娃，銀座LV八爪腳....上個月看到的是十日町大地祭的 長觸花！

紅髮紅唇83歲草間彌生老師的瞪眼有點可怕，她的圓點作品在日本及世界中無處不在。

小時候開始，草間彌生會看到溪中石頭變成無限的面，野地的花草也化身人樣，
向她招手，嚇得她逃回家中，全身發震。
豐富得驚人的幻想幻覺，讓她很困優，常常有自殺的傾向。
畫畫創作讓草間彌生能發洩不安的情緒，能有生存下去的力量。

早期在為人家人寫生的作品中已出現圓點。在京都正式開始學畫（日本畫）。
28歲到約紐學習後，她的圓點作品廣為人注目...有了新名稱
草間彌生＝「前衛的女王」

現在除了週末，
每天草間老師都會由所住的治療院（讓她感到安心的地方）
到東京廣尾的工作室去。
帶著行動不便的身體，眼瞪得大大，
不停地畫，不停地創作，全力疾走到生命的最後一刻！

The first time I saw the Bubble art pieces was Pumpkin with dots.

Rooms is an innovative international tradeshow, stemming from the idea that designers have concepts to transmit to the world around them. Literally, Rooms provides a “room” to exhibit those ideas, each an intersection for designers, buyers and journalists to create new business opportunities, global communication and inspiration. Launched in 2000, Rooms is held twice a year with exhibits that include clothing, denim products, accessories, everyday gadgets and art. This September is the 25th show.
